Construction Update

Photo credit: Ian W (future resident Lot 82)
The unprecedented wet weather throughout the month of May has made the site extremely wet, resulting in delays to works on site. The drone image above shows earthworks at mid May with the the RV Wash Bay, Dog Off Leash park and RV Overnight Stay parking area clearly taking shape (right hand side of the photo).

Earthworks

Earthworks are largely complete and the site taking shape, in readiness for the construction of our on-site facilities and resident homes.

Services

Sewer pipes are continuing to be installed and the team are making good progress despite the rain in May.

Roadworks

Our external footpath and roadworks to William Street are complete, with the grass flourishing with all the rain.

Wet Weather

The photos show a sodden site after a solid fortnight of rain. Specifically, we had more than 219mm of rain in the gauge on site in the week from the 9-16 May 2022. This has caused delays to critical path works. Despite the heavy rainfall, sewer works continued but the conditions made it slower than usual. We are hopeful for a better and dryer month in June.

There is a chill in the air

Here are some ways to conquer the winter weather

Winter is here – the days are shorter and the nights are colder. For some, this is ideal but for others it’s not so much. Here are some things to help you beat the cold this winter.

Your food affects your mood
Boost your mood with good food! Whether its a freshly squeezed orange juice or cooking up your favourite winter soup, a simple change to your food habits can increase your mood in a positive way and ensure you are having a balanced diet.

Stay active
It may seem a little demotivating when the weather is cold and you would rather snuggle up in your pyjamas sipping on a hot tea. However, exercising regularly in the colder months can help keep your heart healthy whilst releasing feel-good chemicals in your daily exercise. Whether it is a 2 hour stroll or a 10 minute walk, get some Vitamin D in the sunshine!

Do a jig-saw puzzle
This is a perfect idea on a winters day! Set up your puzzle on your dining table and enjoy the fun yet challenging experience of putting together a self-rewarding puzzle.

Spend some time in the garden
If you have a garden, winter is the perfect time to maintain and tidy up outdoors.
